I’m a single Mom of 2 boys who will be starting 1st and 3rd grade when we move from Ohio to Arizona. We will be moving next summer. I know AZ has open enrollment, but my fear is that by waiting to the summer to actually enroll them, the schools will already be filled? Will it be a problem to wait until the summer before the school year starts to enroll them? We live in a suburb of Cleveland presently, and I just enrolled them the summer before school started with no problems. But I keep seeing open enrollment in AZ starting in December!! I don’t even have a permanent place of residency set up yet. Ugh I hope I’m not overly worrying here, but need to make sure I can get my boys enrolled and want to be sure there isn’t some crazy deadline to do so! Anyone have any experience in this? TIA

Is the open enrollment for charter schools or programs of choice? I'm in NC and one of my kids is in an immersion program. I believe enrollment opens in December and if there are to many applicants, a lottery is done.

You would probably have better (and more specific) info if you moved this to the Arizona forum. And also narrowed down to the actual region in Arizona.
