Two members of the California LBGT caucus have introduced a bill to make sure all foster care kids struggling with transgender feelings have access to “gender affirming” counseling, puberty blocking drugs, and sex-change operations. AB 2119‘s primary author, Assemblyman Todd Gloria, (D-San Diego) says foster kids deserve the right to health services that reflect their gender identity, so they can “grow up safe, healthy, and be exactly who they are meant to be.”
Note the Bill has not passed yet. The Bill would *allow access* not force anything. This may override the biological parent's decisions for children in the foster care system.
I'm not sure if young kids know who they are in the first place. I think they want to be what their parents would like them to be to please them.
Your talking about foster kids, what parents are they trying to please? Even if we weren't talking about foster kids, a lot of parents would not be pleased if their child csme out as transgender. Most parents, even if they support their child's decision, would not like for their child to be going through such struggles at such a young age.

Really? Don't be a darned fool. You think I wish this on my kid? So that people like YOU can make judgements? Foolish, completely foolish. This is a struggle for my kid. It's also a struggle for me. We're dealing. But with people like you, the sky is always falling. And it's UGLY. Cut it out. Please CUT IT OUT.
