I was a divorced single mother for many years. I think single Moms could benefit from the support of others!

That would be great...I am a single mom of a six year old. Sometimes I wish I had someone to talk to about parent issues or just general stuff.

Being a single mother is not easy but it's by far the most rewarding experience I've ever had. I've been doing it for almost 14 years- and for those of you who are new to it, hang in there and do what's best for your kids. Life does get easier.

I love being a single mother - but sometimes it gets very difficult.
It would be nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of.

Really? As one of 4 abused children of a single "mother", the one thing I never wanted to be was a mother. God in his infinite wisdom decided I should be part of that 1% birth control pill failure rate at the age of 30. I have been a single mother and the sole support of my son who is now 18 years old for all 18 years. To say it has been difficult would be an understatement. I didn't realize how lazy I was until my son was born. Between juggling a full time job (2 hr. per day commute), daily daycare drop off/pickup, unreliable baby sitters, parent teacher conferences, plays, yard work, shoveling snow, laundry, housework, and no support system, my soul looks back and wonders how I got over

That being said, my son is the best thing that ever happened to me. Having him made me realize that there really is a such thing as unconditional love. But I still think being a single parent is the hardest job on the face of the earth.

But it's also the most rewarding on so many levels.

Agreed! It may sound crazy but if I had to go back and do it all over again, I would. My son came home from college Monday and will be here until January 22nd, but he's been visiting friends since Friday. Over the years of juggling 99 things at once, I would think, boy it will be nice when he is grown and on his own. He's only been gone for 2 days and I already miss him.
