My five 1/2 year old is ready to transition from his 5 point harness to a high back booster. He's 50 inches tall and 72+lbs. I'm leaning towards the Britax Parkway SGL since it goes up to 120 lbs and 63 inches. Thought? Other recs?

TIA!!

The best place for car seat questions is carseat.org It's full of car seat techs and you can post a question as a guest.

But for my money, investigate the Britax Frontier. You'll get some more time in a harness as he can stay harnessed to 90 pounds. (are you sure the weight is correct?)

I did post there too but thought I'd get some more input.

Yup, weight is correct.

We have Recaro high back boosters and love them. My kids are 5 and 6. My son has about another year or so until I take the back off. Then he will be taller than the back part and it's adjustable.

My 8 year old is in a Graco Affix, which is basically the same as the Graco Turbobooster except it has latch. We chose this seat based on recs from posting at car-seat.org, which I highly recommend doing. They suggested this one because my child is quite small and this seat is known to fit smaller kids well. So maybe it wouldn't be a good fit for you since your 5 year old is both taller and heavier than my 8 year old! My 5 year old is still riding harnessed, and I expect that we will get at least another year, maybe two, before we put her in a highback booster.

Goodness you have a football player on your hands. He weighs more than my 11 year old!
