Not something I would have done. But how is it abuse, neglect and abandonment ? They were there for an hour. She knew where they were- they knew where they were. She was probably right nearby, making sure they stayed there. You think she was going to trust them to stay put by themselves.

Just because we don't agree with a parent's non physical choice for discipline does not mean they are abusing their children. I don't think her method is effective or going to get through to them intellectually, but is it neglectful or abandonment, not at all.
