Oh blah. I can't remember what I did on any birthday when I was a teenager. My only recollection, a good one, is that my mother always fixed roast turkey. I thought I was a bit old for birthday parties. But I would have loved to have had a lap dance. I once read of a father who hired an escort for his son's thirteenth birthday. That would have been even better.

The problem is having inappropriate sexual boundaries regarding children, which parents of all ages can have. This has nothing to do with being a young mother. I'm also shocked that the dancers performed -- they were unaware the children were underage? Right. Who was in charge of checking ID?
This is like when a "father" brings his son to a strip club at 18 or hires a prostitute so the son can "become a man". It's disgusting. I know they boy in this story is 16 and some of his friends ranged in age from 13 to 16, but it's the same type of inappropriate sexual boundary.
I could never imagine bringing my child (at any age) to see strippers or to hire a sex worker.
