Why is it selfish to not want kids? (parents, child, raise)

But why do parents accuse other people who don't want kids of being selfish? I don't want kids. I have a lot of reasons for not wanting kids. Many of them are selfish. But why is that any more selfish than parents choosing to have kids? I don't think people become parents because they feel a sense of obligation to society. Most people choose to become parents for their own personal happiness, because they WANT to raise kids... they don't do it for the good of society. It's not like we are in any danger of underpopulation.
