Today Me, My friend and her 15 year old son went out today.
We all went into Rite Aid to get some over the counter meds, while I was waiting for the perscription,my friend's 15 year old son was reading a book when he looked up and some little girl between 7-10 was just staring at him and giving him an evil look, my friends son is not one to back down so he just stared her back, and then the little girl ran up, did a rude gesture, said "U ugly" and then laughed at him.
He was somewhat offeneded. He told his mother and she asked me do I think we should have told the mother.

I'm wondering, what would you have done in this event?

I would have done nothing.

I would have hid in a corner and laughed where no one would see me. Seriously, Mom defending a 15yo from a jibe from a little kid? Yah, no.

OP, would you like some help finding a hobby? I'm pretty sure that we can brainstorm and find something for you to do.

Rude people are everywhere. They come in all ages and all sizes.

I would have gone about my business, definitely not go to the mom and tell her. If the kid acts like that , I don't want to be anywhere near the bigger version.

Which person am I in the scenario? You, the brat, the tattletale, or his mom? I probably would have looked kindly at the girl and corrected her grammar.

Tell him to keep his nose in his book and not stare her back.

If a little girl between 7 -10 had the power to offend him with a rude gesture and "U ugly" it's best he not provoke little girls with an attitude.

I would have encouraged him to walk away. The best response in that situation is no response.
