Mine are usually in my head, God forbid if someone actually heard them.
I woke up this morning with a very, very, old commercial tune. "They're off and running at Hollywood Park." I don't ever remember going to that park.
I don't remember the tune, but I do like the way Trevor Denman calls the races @ Hollywood Park. That's his catch phrase " they're off and running......."
Sometimes when I'm trying to get out of the house and I can't get off the phone, I find myself singing that commercial "Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go, gotta go!"
One time when I was listening to a chronic whiner I found myself singing a line from "Stop your Sobbing." As in get the hint, honey? Not sure if she got the hint, or if she thought I was listening to my i-pod. But it made me feel better.
If you need to practice a speech out loud and you're in a public area, all you have to do is hold a cell phone to your ear and act as though you're talking to someone.
I've prepared for a lot of presentations this way. It's amazing what crazy things you can say to yourself just because you're holding a cell phone. And nobody will give you a second glance.
Just make sure it's turned off! Might be embarrassing if it rang in mid-speech.
Anyway, like I told my cat, if you have a pet, you're never really talking to yourself!
Hmmm. . . Well, usually when I "talk" to myself out loud, it's usually some nasty name-calling from anger. So to add a lilt to "You stupid . . . . . " Ain't gonna type the words here!
If you like to talk to yourself and don't want folks to think your a tad "off"... sing the words instead of speaking them.
Folks around you will just think "ah there's a happy carefree person."
I cannot sing at all so if I started singing in public people would just run away from me!...LOL.
