CHICAGO, March 26 (UPI) -- A single suburban Chicago mom is receiving a kidney from a man she met while checking out his groceries at the supermarket where she worked, doctors say.

Dan Coyne asked Myra dela Vega, 49, whether she would consider him a donor after dela Vega told him she was starting dialysis for kidney failure, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.

That is so COOL! It's nice to hear about stories where people are actually helping one another Vs hurting one another.

My kidneys are to old to use for transplant now but I would have saved mine in case a child of mine needed one.

I had an Uncle that died from Kidney failure, so this subject is something that's kind of important to me. All of us were tested and none were a match. My Uncle was just 43 when he died.
