Arm out the window with just the pinkie finger hooked through the steering wheel. Cigarette in the other hand. Right foot flat on the floor.

I steer my vehicle with telepathy, so you don't wanna know what I do with my hands when I drive...

Just kidding - I drive with both hands on the steering wheel in the 10 and 2 position all the time on my Dodge truck. My Nissan SUV has a 5-speed manual transmission, and when I drive on surface streets, I keep my left hand at the 10 o'clock position, and my right on the shift stick until I get into high gear.

For safety, both hands should be on the steering wheel, either in the 10-2 or 9-3 position just in case you have to respond fast to a situation to avoid an accident.

Actually the 9 & 3 is the recommended position for safety reasons. The safety schools are teaching that position because any other hold where your arm is in the path of the air bag can cause the air bag to break your arm and smash it into your face causing more damage.

Default far right wing upbringing

I learned to drive the JR way, which is the only right way: hands at 9 and 2. Any other way is wrong.

Actually, my dad is right.

What is you favorite position ?

All four wheels on the ground in an upright position. Hand positions vary as you steer unless you're driving in a straight line. Generally left hand at 12 o'clock on steering wheel. If i see an approaching problem I'll put both hands on the wheel. Then I'm prepared to make the magical maneuvers that only a professional can perform. I'm the man at the wheel!!

Left hand, usually underhand, at about 8 o'clock. Right hand usually sitting on gear shift...even when I drive my automatic transmission cars...out of habit.
