I recently realized how much time I spend in these forums when I was talking to some friends at work and I ended my conversation with saying LOL! And another time I found myself saying "ROFL".

Please say others have done this too!

I do think of the little smilies, but have no way to verbally convey that thought. Maybe it's a good thing I can't because people would wonder what the heck kind of fruit loop I really am! LOL

I'm on a bunch of other forums too and there are some really cool smilies on those other forums. I wish I could bring some of those over here to this forum.

hoosier a few years ago I played my one and only online game (everquest) I knew I was playing to much when I would bring certian game phrases into real life.
When the dogs would run into a room I would say to my husband "incoming" or "hey the dogs are camping my chair wanting to eat"

2 of the folks I met here have become friends in "real life" (I have a feeling after our trip to Alaska this number will greatly increase)
My sister is amazed she keeps saying "you met them in some forum".

I tell her "Yup and there are a bunch more I can't wait to meet".

OMG! Karla, how did you escape from Everquest? Time magazine called it "techno-crack". By best friend's husband is so addicted, he sometimes does not even make it to bed.

Back to the question. Yes, I am guilty of using NBD in conversations. This has gotten worse since the phone company started running a commercial showing a pre-teen girl and her mother having a discussion about all of the text messages the girl sends. "OMG! NBD" the girl tells her mother......

Actually I started because my DH played and you know the phrase "if you can;t beat them..."

I think because it was the first time I had played a online game, when they came out with a couple new games the folks I played with left and I started doing more gardening so it was easy.

My hubby still plays only now it is "Worlds of Warcraft" but he is not as crazy with this one.

I think I am going to have to add NBD to my list of phrases. I bet I will be a big hit with my 2nd graders
Believe it or not I just learned how to text on my cell phone last week. I figure with my lack of "typing prowess" It is easier for me to just call than text.
