I have visited Texas 3 times and yes overall people in Texas no matter their background seem overall to be down to Earth, laid back and nice people. There are always individual exceptions but overall it is true.
It is the only state I would consider moving to and I did give it some thought, partcularly San Antonio/Austin.I didn't spend enough time in Dallas to come to a opinion but Houston was a huge huge metro area that didn't seem to have the same laid back vib as SA or Austin.
Yeah, I'd agree with you. I lived in west Texas for a couple years and didn't find many people I didn't like, but I could say the same for most states.
I lived in Texas and when they are out of their cars, Texans are mighty fine people. However, once you get them behind the wheel of an automobile, they turn into the biggest sh*theads you could ever imagine. That Texas hospitality they talk about doesn't exist on their roadways - especially if you are in their state with California plates on your car.
Okay, I'm gonna duck under the desk now and wait for the incoming stuff being thrown at me by "y'all".
