my daughter and I both agree that this is a major pet peeve of ours.....when ever we go into a restaurant we get long stares. like we are circus freaks or something. my daughter being young and spunky will say real loud......what are these people looking at???? I just ignore it! maybe we are freaks and we don't even know it lol
I'm sure people think I'm staring at them when I try to read what's on their T-Shirt...sometimes though, I'm wishing I hadn't read what's on their shirt!!
Oh that is annoying!! And some of them just keep staring - - - - then you start wondering "Ok, am I having a wardrobe malfunction of some kind, or do I have food on my face" - - - What the heck!!!
My dh does this to me all the time.....I've grown accustomed to it....
he is a thinker and will go into a trance like state when he is seriously mulling something over in his mind, and he could be looking right at me and yet his mind is on what he is thinking and he really does not see me.....
Are you sure they are staring, and not just "tuned out"? Speaking only from my own experience, someone will catch my eye because they've reminded me of someone, something, and off my mind goes to whatever path the memory takes me. I "come back" and realize that person is looking at me, but I haven't actually been seeing them. (Senior moment? Hope not, but it does happen.)
