There are many reasons children want to grow their hair out: rebellion, imitation of an idol or just to make a fashion statement.

Eight-year-old Hooper Jerrolds' long locks aren't a sign of any selfish endeavor, but instead Hooper, who played right field for the Bower Patriots, has grown his hair long a symbol of philanthropy. He will soon be lopping off his nearly 9-inch tresses to donate them to the Locks of Love charity.

Couple notes, you have to commend the child for the accomplishment and the purpose for its use and I think the parents need recognition because without their love, support, guidance and discipline to doing whats right this child and those he helps may never have had a chance to experience this kind unselfish act of giving!

Congrats Hooper
