We have not been affected by the economy (in the medical field...someones always sick!) but my husband said I am doing my part to keep the economy stimulated...aka shopping.

I also stay away from negetive threads here on CD! I avoid to much news on the TV. I go to uplifting threads here and read entertaining books. Yes, I do put my head in that hole in the sand but hey, I sure don't need to stick it out where it will get knocked around and get me so down when there is very little I can personally do to make things any better! I go outside and take walks and have learned to see and appreciate the things I have right here in my own backyard!!

I'm staying away from the malls and not buying anything that I absolutely don't need, just the bare essentials. It makes me feel upbeat that I'm saving money.

I wish I had all that money to go on vacation and camping and cruising though like some of you guys.

I'm with you Cyn. The world has become so negative.

Hasn't it? If we gauged our world by the mass media reports, we would be hourding food and fuel in anticipation for a financial armageddon. The attitudes of the people dictate how long a recession lasts, but without this to talk about what would CNN do?????

I think some of the actual problems have been created not so much by what has happened, but what people fear will happen. In other words, I think we're being victims of some self-fulfilling prophecies to some extent if that makes any sense.

I also feel the media has overblown this - and in part caused some of the panic. As far as we see in our area-restaurants are packed everyday and between fast food and other establishments we have over 40.

Exactly! Heck, the media does not have Anna Nicole's death to talk about, Paul McCartney's divorce, OJ's trial...they have to have a paycheck too

Listening to tunes. Lots of them. Like I said in my profile-"Listen to more music, and less talk radio."
