I remember distinctly when my mother drove home with a brand new 52 Henry-J and the color was that diaper yellow and I said I'm not riding in that pile o ****e. We only had it for about a year or so as it turned out to be a lemon of sorts and traded it in for I beleive was a Chevy Impala.
Stude, I always like the Studebaker. I think it was ahead of it's time.
To me the cars that are worthy of the title of "Classics" are the Ford Mustangs from the 1960's through 1973, Chevy Camaros from 1967 through 1972, the Dodge Challenger, Plymouth Roadrunner, and Barracuda from the late 1960's through 1973.
With a few exceptions, most cars that were built from 1974, through 1982 were garbage. I love Mustangs, but you can't even give me the ones that were built from 1974 through 1978, which looked like large Pintos! These Mustangs were a joke, and a disgrace to the name!
I agree about the late 60's and early 70's era for cars that really kicked butt !!!
My first car ever in was 1985 as it was a 72 Chevy Nova with a 454 olds engine and it always ran a tad hot as we couldn't place the correct size Radiator in it for that size block and the car was painted Candy Apple Red as it was Da Bomb . I had ladies kicking all over me to cruise in that Sport Car back in the day .
'69 Ford Falcon. My dad bought it in '69 off the showroom floor for $3,000. It was probably the best investment he ever made because after he died, I inherited it and drove it for another 20 years.
That car taught me a whole lot about cars, about engines and about dependability.
I absolutely love Bel-Aires... They are my favorite classic cars from the 50's and such. Although it's not a classic (yet), I also love 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Broughams (two door).
I lost my cherry to a little tart named Mara Chino, a cobbler's daughter, in the back seat of a '57 Chevy. She seemed apeeling at the time. It was easy as pie yet somehow she thought the experience was the pits. She even called me a fruit after I got her top down. I shouldn't have been so juiced up. Would jubilee it? Bing there, done that.
