It’s interesting. They both have brown hair and eyes and the baby is blonde and blue eyed. Granted her husband was blonde as a kid but didn’t look like the baby. 7 months old and he is looking less like them. My sister is Jewish with russian background and husband mother is from South America. Yet the baby almost looks Scandinavian. Was there a mix up at the hospital? Lol. Maybe he will look more like one of them when he is older. Anyone else experience this.
Hair color/eye color are often different the first few weeks of life...they often change.
My Son was born with red hair and brown eyes...he went on to have blonde hair and blue eyes.

Even if the child retains the blonde/blue it doesn't mean too much. Both parents could have recessive blonde/blue genes and pass that combo on to the child.

It can take 9 months to even as long as 3 years for a baby's hair color to change. I have seen this with my 7 youngers and brothers and sisters, 3 kids, and 2 grandkids. There are also genetic variables that can result in a kid having different colored hair than either parent. The chances of a misplaced newborn in the hospital, or even an extramarital affair are very slim.
From babyhood till I was about 14, I didn't look like any of my immediate family members. I was a pale-skinned towhead and my parents and siblings had olive skin and brown hair. The features of my face were not at all similar to theirs. When I reached my teen years, my features changed and by the time I was about 16 my sister (3.5 years older) and I looked almost like twins, except for our skin color.
When it comes to babies looking like their parents, I find that's rarely the case.

My 2 boys had very light blond hair when they were little, both now have very dark brown hair in their 40's. My daughter had and still has light brown hair (also in her 40's.)
Look at any baby pictures of grown people, and they rarely look anything like their baby pictures. My youngest grandchild is 3 and we are still trying to see any resemblance to anyone in the family.
Sometimes it jumps generations. I didn't think my middle son looked like either of us. When my middle son was around 20 I was sorting through old photographs I found a photo of my husband's father when he was around 14. I showed my son, he thought it was an old photo of himself. Oh my gosh--it was the spitting image of my middle son. It was almost creepy! It was like his twin from another era!
