Teenagers are criminal punks nowadays and this is what we have to look forward to? Sounds like more postal shootings when they get older!

Excuse me, I'm 17 and I'm not a "criminal punk". Yes, there are some bad apples out there but the majority of us are perfectly decent people who wouldn't dream of doing such a thing. The guy in the story is a piece of trash but he's part of a tiny minority. The reason we teenagers have such a bad reputation in society nowadays is because the media only report the bad stuff and ignore the good. How often do you see headlines that say "Millions of teenagers did not commit crimes yesterday"? Never. Millions of teenagers did indeed manage to refrain from committing crimes yesterday but that fact doesn't sell papers or boost ratings so instead they choose the stories about teens who rob people or shoot up their schools. I see from your profile that you are in your 30s. There are lots of criminals out there who are in their 30s as well but I doubt you'd appreciate it if I called you a criminal too. Comments like yours simply help to exaggerate the problems posed by teenagers in society and I, along with every other good, law-abiding teenager out there, do not appreciate being labelled a criminal.

This is one of those good news/bad news things. Bad news is, we don't get to read about people like you who live life according to the rules. Good news is, the definition of news is, something out of the ordinary. We don't read about you because so many of you are doing the right thing. Keep up the good work.

I did not label You as a criminal and no I do not only pay attention to what the media says,I form my own opinions from what I see. And aside from seeing much more crime being perpetrated by teens than when I was growing up years ago,I currently deal with it personally every day in my own neighborhood. That's why I say what I said.

Fair enough although it sounded like a huge generalisation when you said "Teenagers are criminal punks nowadays".
