Abracadabra! An extra day for you! This is the magical day that did not exist for the last three years! Four years ago I had a deadline that I needed to finish something by the end of February. I was so relieved have the 29th. Funny, I cannot remember what it was.
Kind of funny to look at this day has a day that didn't exist for years ago. I suppose technically just the name of that didn't exist but still time sensitive things are affected by the calendar.
An extra day is a fun thing to think of. Or extra cake? Even better! Or chocolate!
What is something you would like one extra of today?
I'd like an extra 10 hours of sleep. Happy Leap Day!
Oh! I think I found your 10 hours of sleep! I keep going back to sleep yesterday. Woke at 7:30, ate breakfast. Went back to sleep. Ditto for 10am and noon!
Yay! I can keep from resetting the date on my watch for this time, lol. Oh wait, no, it doesn’t keep perpetual calendar time. Just clicked it up to the 31st so it flips over tonight.
EmanResu VIII, sounds like the deck was stacked against June having an extra day instead of February!

During his time in Egypt, Caesar became convinced of the superiority of the Egyptian solar calendar, which featured 365 days and an occasional intercalary month which was inserted when astronomers observed the correct conditions in the stars. Caesar and the philosopher Sosigenes of Alexandria made one important modification: instead of relying on the stars, they would simply add a day to every fourth year. In keeping with the Roman tradition of messing with the length of February, that day would fall in the second month of the year—thus Leap Day was born.Caesar added two extra-long months to the year 46 BCE to make up for missed intercalations, and the Julian Calendar took effect on January 1st, 45 BCE.
