Im not sure this post was in here before or not, but who in here likes indoor games whether its board, strategic games or card games? Im not really big on a lot of board games but Scrabble keeps ya on your toes. I also like Twister (yes, we've played different versions of it in my younger days) Jenga, Apples to Apples (card game) and Uno (another card game).

You got my attention with this one. I was thinking about the subject recently.

I went to our game closet and wrote down what's in there. I did not go down to the basement and look through those. Lazy, I guess.

In the closet:

Black Box
Sequence
Scrabble
Tripoli (Michigan Rummy)
Parcheesi
Stock Market Game
Life
Backgammon
Trivial Pursuit (several versions)
Probe
Dominos
Yahtzee
Risk
Pictionary
20 Questions
Tri Ominos
Password (several versions)
Chess
Checkers

At a guess there are 10-15 more downstairs.

We also play Bridge, Pinochle (double deck), Canasta, Cribbage, Hearts, Spades, Pitch, Casino, Rummy, Oh Hell (Uno), and others.

When we first got married we were saving every penny for a house. To entertain ourselves we bought cards and the Hoyle Book of Games. We taught ourselves every card game in the book.

We play what we call The Dice Game (original, huh?) which is similar to a game that I think is called Farkle or something like that.

We play Blackjack at Casinos, and I play poker both on line and at a casino. I won $90 last time I played poker at a casino, and have won money and prizes on line at a free (FREE) site, and it's fun. getting paid for having a good time. Let me think....

We usually come out even or ahead when we play Blackjack. Free entertainment.

In answer to your question, yes we like to play games.

We were both born with a deck of cards in our hands, much to the chagrin of our mothers.

Well, games require a little brain power and they can double as a cheap night out. Depending on the competition; I love a good game of hearts; Haven't had anyone to play chess with for years, so I'm certain my skills have atrophied. In high school, my buddies and I used to play risk to no end. We added mountain ranges that you couldn't cross so your armies would have to go around through another country to get somewhere. We added a sea route from Australia to South America so you could attack it directly, but first you'd have to roll against a wolf pack that was roaming the waters. Also added were air bases in select countries so you could attack other countries with air bases, skipping the countries in between. To go from Mexico to Venezuela, you'd have to take your chances and roll against giant ants before you got to the actual armies. Yeah, we embellished the heck out of that game, but man - those were the days.

I think I digressed there a bit, but I would add that games, with the right company, can be enormous fun. These days I do a lot of crosswords and sudoku.

Yeah, I agree, when Im just trying to keep myself busy theres nothing as cheap as word searches. I get the Dell word searches because they make some of them challenging.

I like to play Bookworm on the computer. But when playing with the family, we play Life, Monopoly, Uno & Yahtzee alot. We try clue, but my son (god love him) gives it all away every time! He'll never be a good poker player!

I remember a game called Quarters, which involved alcoholic drinks and quarters, and participants try to bounce quarters off a table and into the glass. I never played it, but back in the early 1980's, my girlfriend back then tried it once, and she never wanted to play it again!

I wasn't into card games too much, but I played War once or twice. I also played Monopoly a lot when I was a kid, and got sent to my jail room a number of times...

I'd forgotten all about Quarters! oooeeeee blast from the past.

I literally have a closet full of board games -- everything from Candyland to Deal or No Deal. I even have Mystery Date from the 60s. When my daughter was younger we used to play games a lot, but now, not so much if at all.

Traditionally, New Years Eve was game night. Every year, my younger sister organized a party of family and friends, and after devouring Chinese food, we'd spend the evening playing Uno and Pictionary and Trivial Pursuit, etc.
