When I was 15, my mother took me to England to meet her three remaining siblings and the cousins. Uncle Jack was dying of heart failure, and Aunt Thelma died from colon cancer 5 years later. Her daughter, Gay, died from colon cancer 5 years before she did. Gay didn't look ill when I met her.

When I started school, Elvis Presley was a young, up and coming singer.......... Nobody had heard of the Beatles. In fact, they hadn't even met yet........

I feel your pain. I was in junior high school with Elvis stole Arthur Crudup's songs and began to make a name for himself.

The women in both my father and mother's families routinely lived into their nineties. On the other hand, my father died at 55 and his brother in their sixities and early seventies. If I make it to my birthday in April, I will be only the fourth male in my father's family to have reached eight in four generations.

My dad lived to be almost 55 however his early demise was not due to genes as much as a choice to smoke. His older brother made it to almost 96 and his mother lived to be 93. I've got bonus years on my 3 score and 10.

My dad popped his clogs at 55 also. Same....... he was a heavy smoker, with a poor diet. Lots of stress as well. His brother died at 62. My grandfather at 64, same age as I am now. I'm hangin' in there.......
