Hahahahaha!

It's quite all right! Square peg is meant to correlate with an item that doesn't fit in well - as into a round hole; like the black sheep of the family; someone who doesn't belong. That sort of thing. Many times I've looked at the name and thought it might be more suitable for a lady; as in Peg - she's such a square!
