None of those, but I can't tell our secrets. My parents had a stable of harness horses, and we did, too. Two of theirs are still well known in that circle. Our worst horse was Beach Gal's Filly! She cost us a ton, and we ended up putting her in a claiming race. Some Amish guy bought her. Spending a lot of time in the barns was a good education, in more ways than one. Mucking out the stalls for other owners had benefits, and the betting part of that business paid off more than our harness horses' winnings....although, our pacers did better than our trotters. That whole experience over a 15 year time period was great fun!

Thanks AM! Good Job!

The only reason I watch horse racing is to see all the pretty ponies... So, I'd probably just bet on the nicest looking horse.

The elementary school was half a block away. The junior/senior high school was three blocks away, until we moved, and then it barely a block.

Hell yeah I skipped. I was a teenager. My history teacher saw me walking home. He didn't report me. He asked me if I'd had a nice day.

It was a great day! My friend and I scraped together our coins and managed to buy something to eat. We went to the park and swang? swung? on the swings. Someone left a frisbee there. We ran around for hours on that glorious day in May. Youth, enthusiasm, and vitamin D are good things.
