Welcome to the club!

Today’s Questions:
When was the last time you tried something new?
Not exactly "new," but last week at an Italian restaurant I tried something different.
What was it and how did you like it?
I'd mentioned to the owner that I didn't care for anchovies. I'd had them once or twice over the years and loathed them both times. Giuseppe replied, "You should try real Italian anchovies. They're so much better. You'll like them!" So I agreed, and he brought me a few anchovies on a plate.

Well, guess what? I still hate them. I tried to be diplomatic as possible to Giuseppe, but - yuck! Too salty.

Have you ever adopted a pet?
Yes, twice. I adopted (on separate occasions) Charlie and Henry, two budgies that were unwanted by their owners. The birds were so neglected, they didn't even have names when I got them. They were both delightful pets. They're long gone, but I miss them and still keep miniature framed photos of them on my dresser.

Have you volunteered for anything lately?
Yes.

What?
I have applied as a volunteer for a medical research study on the health benefits of cocoa extract. If I am chosen, I will be given capsules to take daily that are either cocoa extract or a placebo.

Extra Credit Questions:
Would you rather be completely insane and know that you are insane or completely insane and believe you are sane?
I would rather know that I'm mentally ill because having that much insight would mean there would be a better chance of recovery.
Would you rather know all the mysteries of the universe or know every outcome of every choice you make?
That's a tough one. I'll have to say the latter, knowing the outcome of my choices. If I'd had that ability earlier in my life, I might have avoided a lot of heartache.

Would you rather be the life of the party and the funniest person your friends know but suffer from depression or be happy and content but people think you are boring and unfunny?
This one is easy. I've been depressed, and I don't ever want to go there again. It's hell on earth. I'd much rather have people think I'm boring.

Would you rather eat your favorite meal for every meal for the rest of your life or never be able to eat your favorite meal again?
There are so many wonderful foods out there that I'll choose never be able to eat my favorite meal again. I'm sure I'd find many worthy alternatives and maybe some new favorites.

Would you rather own your own boat or your own island?
Neither, really, but if forced to make a choice, I'd say island. But then I'd have to own a boat, wouldn't I?

Would you rather spend one year sailing around the world or one year living in your foreign favorite country?
I am not a big fan of sailing, so I'll take a year in a foreign country.

Would you rather take a trip down the Amazon River or walk the Great Wall of China?
Neither, but if forced to choose I'll take the Amazon as China is about the last place on earth I'd ever want to visit.

Would you rather live as a vegan for a month or only be able to eat meat and dairy for a month?
Vegan, as I think a diet of only meat and dairy would become monotonous quickly, not to mention being high in fat and cholesterol. With vegan, the choices are almost unlimited and the food is more healthful.

Bonus Questions:
What is the most annoying habit someone can have?
Vocal tics such as an obnoxious laugh or saying "y'know" ten times in every sentence.
What is the most annoying habit you have?
I asked Mr. Bay for help on this one. He said it was "asking me questions that will get me in trouble." I think the real answer would be that I sometimes leave strands of hair in the bathroom sink after I shampoo and blow dry.
Where is the most beautiful place you have been?
The Hawaiian Islands.
Where do you spend most of your free time / day?
I'm retired, so I am at home most of the time.
Who was your best friend in elementary school?
I didn't really have one because we moved so often. By the time I left sixth grade to start junior high, I had changed schools eight times. I don't even remember all the names of my teachers.

How often do you stay up past 3 a.m.?
Almost every day. I go to bed around 1:30 or 2, but sometimes can't get to sleep until 3 or later.

What’s your favorite season? Why?
Autumn because I enjoy things like Halloween, pumpkin pie, roast turkey and colorful fall foliage.

What animal or insect do you wish humans could eradicate?
Mosquitoes. They're not good for anything except spreading disease.

Today’s Questions:
When was the last time you tried something new? I'm not it was the last thing, but this came to mind. Last summer I tried zip lining for the first time.

What was it and how did you like it? Zip lining in the rain forest canopy in Jamaica. It was scary at first, but turned out to be one of the biggest thrills of my life. Easy to learn and very fun. The sights were so beautiful!

Have you ever adopted a pet? Yes. I've adopted 3 cats. One the first time around, and after he died I adopted 2 more kitties, which I still have 16 years later. Them's my babies!

Have you volunteered for anything lately? Yep. I do a lot of volunteering and a week never goes by without my spending some time on volunteer work.

What? I do a lot of volunteering through my church; various activities at various venues. I also volunteer at the local VNA hospice center.

Extra Credit Questions:
Would you rather be completely insane and know that you are insane or completely insane and believe you are sane? The latter.

Would you rather know all the mysteries of the universe or know every outcome of every choice you make? Mysteries of the universe.

Would you rather be the life of the party and the funniest person your friends know but suffer from depression or be happy and content but people think you are boring and unfunny? Be happy, regardless of what people think.

Would you rather eat your favorite meal for every meal for the rest of your life or never be able to eat your favorite meal again? Never be able to eat favorite meal again.

Would you rather own your own boat or your own island? Island.

Would you rather spend one year sailing around the world or one year living in your foreign favorite country? One year living in my favorite foreign country - Croatia.

Would you rather take a trip down the Amazon River or walk the Great Wall of China? Amazon River.

Would you rather live as a vegan for a month or only be able to eat meat and dairy for a month? Vegan, but only because if I couldn't eat veggies for a month my body would hate me for it. Metamucil would become my best friend.

Bonus Questions:
What is the most annoying habit someone can have? Hard to narrow it down to one. One of the top most annoying would be constantly using a cell phone while in the company of others, especially mine!

What is the most annoying habit you have? Sometimes I interrupt people when they are talking. I hate when I do that, and it's not intentional. I'm sure it's annoying to others.

Where is the most beautiful place you have been? Bled, Slovenia.

Where do you spend most of your free time / day? What is free time? I don't understand the question. Haha - Actually, I spend what little free time I have answering the QOTD on most days.

Who was your best friend in elementary school? Sheryl. I saw her about 1.5 years ago for the first time in 44 years. I'm going to see her again three weeks from today, at my 45th year high school reunion.

How often do you stay up past 3 a.m.? Several times a year. It's not unusual for me to stay up till 2 a.m. on Fri and Sat nights, but that's usually about my limit.

What’s your favorite season? Fall. Why? Because typically the daytime temps are mild and nighttime temps are chilly. Trees and shrubs display their beautiful fall colors and late-season flowers are still blooming in my garden. Falls are usually quite lovely in this area.

What animal or insect do you wish humans could eradicate? Gee, I don't know. I like most critters. I guess I'll choose cockroaches.

Today’s Questions:
When was the last time you tried something new? ANIMALCRAZY!!!!! I also started using this Lipitor and it destroyed my life - I aged 20 years in 3 weeks - tired all the time - everything hurt. I went online to read reviews and 99% said the same thing. I went back to Simvaststan.

What was it and how did you like it? See above

Have you ever adopted a pet? Yes - my girl Scout (dog). Wonderful dog. Also several cats.

Have you volunteered for anything lately? I volunteered to cut down many baby trees growing next to the fence on my neighbors side. She's a DR and doesn't seem to have the time to do it - if we wait any longer they'll get big and then it's a real hassle to take them down.

What? see above

Would you rather know all the mysteries of the universe or know every outcome of every choice you make?

Would you rather eat your favorite meal for every meal for the rest of your life or never be able to eat your favorite meal again?
My favorite meal would cease to be my favorite meal if I had to eat it all the time.
Would you rather own your own boat or your own island? I'd want an island ~~ BUT~~ without a boat that island would get old fast. So I guess it's the boat.

Would you rather spend one year sailing around the world or one year living in your foreign favorite country?

Would you rather take a trip down the Amazon River or walk the Great Wall of China?

Would you rather live as a vegan for a month or only be able to eat meat and dairy for a month?

Bonus Questions:
What is the most annoying habit someone can have? Noisy eating

What is the most annoying habit you have? Surely you jest~~me? Annoying habits? Paleese!

Where do you spend most of your free time / day? Home and the city lakes

Who was your best friend in elementary school? ?????

How often do you stay up past 3 a.m.? Frequently - I get my second wind around 11:00 p.m.

What’s your favorite season? Why? Spring - new, fresh, the green is greener, everything is budding and coming to life

What animal or insect do you wish humans could eradicate? Sharks - not really eradicate since they are interesting and serve a purpose but I would like to swim in the ocean and not worry about them

Annoying habit someone could have is persistence.
I never stay up past 3 am, in fact, its almost around time for me to get up.
My favourite season is winter. In the midwest.
Where do I spend most of my time: driving.
Being the life of a party and being funny has to come naturally, not someone who thinks they are. But....Im happy being the wallflower and quiet. Dont have time to be depressed!
The most beautiful place Ive been, from what Ive seen when I was there, in Canada. Alberta.
Happy Saturday~~~
