Driving etiquette.

Many people were taught how to drive by their parents, or maybe in high school driving class, and driving etiquette was a big part of the learning experience. I was thinking about this and if you were never taught it, you won't recognize the lack of it when you're out there. But I'd like to think that anyone will recognize the gesture when on the receiving end. Then maybe it will turn into a pay it forward type situation. Who knows?

I guess this would be hand in hand with my all time pet peeve.

Slow cars in the fast lane on multi-lane roads.

Definitely not courteous driving.

Consideration for others is all that is needed and it fits most every possible driving issue I can think of.

What peeves me most is the way some people regard driving as some sort of contest between themselves and other drivers that they simply have to win.

^^^Agree here. A high percentage of drivers today have no consideration of others. Probably the way they were brought up.

"the way they were brought up "........BINGO !

Seems every time you run into a real jerk, someone will say.........."If you think he is a jerk, you should have met his dad/grand dad "

Good peeve.

As our roads get busier it's more important than ever to show respect to our fellow road users- except for the one going 10 mph slower than the posted limit on a single carriageway.

Thanks for doing the peeve- I got back late last night.

Driving etiquette.

This has been a real hot topic for the past 2 years here due to construction that has closed main freeways and clogged surface streets in residential areas.

The local FB page on traffic issues can be quite toxic.

I don't drive but something that really riles up my husband is when we're driving through neighborhood school zones which have speed limits of 25, and someone in a hurry almost butts up to us from behind. "Get off my ---!" is the common exclamation from him. We live in one of those areas, so know that police like to hide in areas waiting for speeders, too (we notice them often parked where they aren't so noticeable). We much prefer that the other car get the ticket if they're caught.
