MODESTO, Calif. (AP) ― A Stanislaus County woman accused of trying to kill her husband with a soda can full of wasps has pleaded no contest to assault with a deadly weapon.
Prosecutors say Angela Nellany, of Riverbank, left the soda can inside her husband's truck, then hired a hit man to finish the job. Court records say her husband, Paul Nellany, is deathly allergic to wasp stings.
Paul Nellany learned of the plot on Super Bowl Sunday in 2007 when a man told him Angela Nellany offered to pay him $600 to kill her estranged husband.
The two had split up four months earlier and were fighting over custody of their two children.
***Another police sting. This story is all the buzz. Sounds like she was trying to get rid of her former honey by winging it on the fly since he wasn't a keeper and may have been caught pollinating his nectar. Where was the swat team? Seems like she's watched too many B movies. Now she's in the can. Hope she gets the hives. She sure ain't gonna get any flowers.
Gotta go. It's getting swarm and I have to check my spelling.
