Questions, let's do it...

Food:
Right now I'm eating a Fig Newton cookie, would you like one too? Sure.
What was the last cookie you've eaten? Been a while. Probably a chocolate chip
What's the last item you've snacked on? Pizza
Now are you craving something to eat? I am a mutt. I am always craving something to eat.

School time:
Are you or anyone in your family in school now? Nope
When you were in school did you sit in front, middle or back of the classroom? Sat all over the place. In college if I was going to smuggle in a beer or two to drink then I would sit in the back
Were you a teechur's pet? Only when I shared my beer with the teacher.
What was your best class? Math, Science, History, Study Hall, Lunch
What was your worst class? English
What do you remember best? A six pack of beer cost $1.59 back then. Could get a full size keg for $21.00

Misc stuff:
Have you ever been to the Hammer Museum in Arkansas? I think I once passed within 500 miles of the place.
Have you ever used a hammer to smash rocks or anything? Rocks, walnuts, fingers
Have you ever been to the Trash Museum in Connecticut? Does flying over Connecticut at 37,000 feet count?
When do you put out your trash? When needed
Have you ever been to the Busy Beaver Museum in Illinois? Nope
Have you ever seen a busy beaver? Perhaps
Have you ever been to the Toilet Museum in Texas? Wanted to go but heard it was a crappy place
How many toilets do you have? Just one
Have you ever been to the OZ Museum in Tennessee? Was going to but some dude made out of tin scared me away
Have you ever seen the Wizard of OZ? Many times
Have you ever been to any unusual museum(s)? A few

Are you working on any hobbies or home projects now? Nope
Do you like to paint, like pictures or houses? I hate to paint
If not then what do you like to do? Eat stinky cheese and drink cheap beer

Questions, let's do it...

Food:
Right now I'm eating a Fig Newton cookie, would you like one too? Yuck, no thanks.
What was the last cookie you've eaten? A chocolate chip cookie
What's the last item you've snacked on? The above
Now are you craving something to eat? Nope

School time:
Are you or anyone in your family in school now? Nope
When you were in school did you sit in front, middle or back of the classroom?
Were you a teechur's pet? Nope
What was your best class? Gym
What was your worst class? Algebarf, as my pre calculus teacher called it.
What do you remember best? Sadly, it's how bad my high school was. From what I understand it hasn't changed any.

Misc stuff:
Have you ever been to the Hammer Museum in Arkansas? No
Have you ever used a hammer to smash rocks or anything? As a kid, yes. I was fascinated by what was inside them.
Have you ever been to the Trash Museum in Connecticut? No
When do you put out your trash? Later today, actually. It gets picked up on Mondays.
Have you ever been to the Busy Beaver Museum in Illinois? No
Have you ever seen a busy beaver? No, although I thought I saw one last week. After I thought about it I realized it was really just a big muskrat.
Have you ever been to the Toilet Museum in Texas? No
How many toilets do you have? Just one
Have you ever been to the OZ Museum in Tennessee? No
Have you ever seen the Wizard of OZ? Once or twice in middle school. Our teacher made us watch it and answer a huge packet of questions.
Have you ever been to any unusual museum(s)?
No
Are you working on any hobbies or home projects now? Not right now.
Do you like to paint, like pictures or houses? Haven't painted any pictures since middle school. The house doesn't really need it right now either.
If not then what do you like to do?
I might head down to Michael's later today. I need a frame for a new lithograph I got in the mail a few weeks ago.

Questions, let's do it...

Food:
Right now I'm eating a Fig Newton cookie, would you like one too? Love 'em. Gimme, gimme, gimme!
What was the last cookie you've eaten? Chocolate chip (sugarfree)
What's the last item you've snacked on? I'm eating a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit right now.
Now are you craving something to eat? Nope.

School time:
Are you or anyone in your family in school now? Not even in college. Too old.
When you were in school did you sit in front, middle or back of the classroom? In the front. My eyesight has always been bad.
Were you a teechur's pet? Not that I knew of.
What was your best class? Including my primary and secondary education, classes I took in the Air Force, and those I took in college and in professional life, the most valuable one by far has been high school auto mechanics. Ten minutes ago a young fellow called me to rebuild his small tractor engine for pay. Of course, I refused but my point here is, who calls me to pay me to identify some rodent that has wandered into their backyard?
What was your worst class? Probably English literature.
What do you remember best? Again, from all those classes listed above, I remember best some of my college biology and geology classes for their very interesting field trips and professors.

Misc stuff:
Have you ever been to the Hammer Museum in Arkansas? No.
Have you ever used a hammer to smash rocks or anything? Yes.
Have you ever been to the Trash Museum in Connecticut? No.
When do you put out your trash? Almost daily.
Have you ever been to the Busy Beaver Museum in Illinois? No.
Have you ever seen a busy beaver?Yes.
Have you ever been to the Toilet Museum in Texas? No.
How many toilets do you have? In two house, 4.75.
Have you ever been to the OZ Museum in Tennessee? No.
Have you ever seen the Wizard of OZ? No.
Have you ever been to any unusual museum(s)? I'm sure I have. I never pass up seeing things like "The world's largest ball of rubber bands."

Are you working on any hobbies or home projects now? I've been trying to learn to play the mandolin.
Do you like to paint, like pictures or houses? I don't like painting pictures, houses or pictures of houses. The door I just installed still needs the inside facing painted. It will likely stay unpainted until my wife asks, "Aren't you going to paint that?"
If not then what do you like to do? When the world news gets too grim, I pick up my guitar, turn the TV off and turn the music on.

Mikey's Pun Time: "How to grow strawberries..."

Farmer BJ was driving his tractor along the road near Mikey's house with a trailer load of fertilizer.
Mikey was playing in his yard when he saw the farmer approaching and ran over and asked "whatcha got in your trailer mister farmer?
"Manure" farmer BJ replied.
"Whatcha gonna do with it" asked Mikey.
"Put it on my strawberries" said the farmer.
Mikey smiling said "you ought to come and eat with us, we put ice cream on our strawberries"

Here's another old farm joke from my own work days in government:

The USDA inspector arrives at the farm to take a look at the farmer's herd in light of the ongoing concern for mad cow disease. The inspector shows the farmer his badge and says, "Do you see this badge? This means I have the authority to inspect those cows in that corral and there's nothing you can do about it." The farmer lightly shrugs his head, nods in agreement and replaces the hay straw between his teeth. Having other work to do elsewhere, the farmer leaves the area.

In a few minutes the farmer hears a loud commotion coming from the corral. He runs back over to the corral to find his 2,100 pound Hereford bull angrily chasing the screaming government inspector around the pen. As the inspector runs past the farmer, the farmer shouts to him, "Show him your badge!"

Thanks Wit-Nit.

Wishing everyone a peaceful and relaxing Sunday.

Historical events of note for September 16th.

2009 – The 72-year run of the soap opera The Guiding Light ends as its final episode is broadcast.

When I was home sick in grade school in the Forties my mother would turn on the radio to entertain me, and all that was on were the soap operas so I got to know them and their characters, including the Bauers of The Guiding Light. It and Lorenzo Jones and His Wife Belle were my least favorites...I liked the people who had naughty lives like Mary Noble, Backstage Wife, Stella Dallas and Portia Faces Life. My mother herself never listened to soap operas.
