I've been to the Noxen, PA rattlesnake roundup. They brought in some good ones. Fortunately, they were required to return them to the area where they were caught.
That was a nice day. There was a small petting zoo (local animals), a small local band, good food, ...and snakes!
Years ago there was a snake specialist in FL that caught and kept them in a sanctuary for milking the venom that antivenom was made from.
