"VIDEO CHAT"

There is no way I would ever sit in my apt and look at someone's face on the computer and talk to them when I can just call them on the phone. Plus it will take away from my internet browsing by staring at someone's face on the computer screen. I am still trying to deal with the fact that texting is replacing telephone conversation so there is no way I will go to video chatting..

Anyone else Anti-video chat?

Not at all.

Our daughter has been in Europe for the best part of the last year and 'Facetiming' her on our iPhone or iPad is a lovely way to keep in touch.

If you don't like doing it that is totally up to you, but why knock it?

I don't know how "anti" I am about it, but I have no particular interest in it. And I never text, except for yes/no messages.

When the day comes that I have to get dressed and wash and comb my hair just to go on line, it's over.

I'm seeing this as a social phobia, and one I have recently conquered.

I know this isn't the reply that was wanted, but face to face was how conversations were meant to be.

Another note; It's free.

Because the telephone works just fine and I wouldn't need to constantly see someone's face on a screen during a conversation.

I use it on a iPad when looking a house tours, seeing grand kids for the 1st time, showing crafts to prospective buyers and misc other thing, but not just to chat. For that, we use a phone.

Then carry on doing that and I'll carry on Facetiming my daughter so that I can see her.

You're happy, I'm happy.

Simple.

The only time I do it is at holiday gatherings where one family member couldn't make it. I get to see my niece and new baby grand niece who live in Colorado.
