I just heard yesterday that a bunch of Jewel food stores in the Chicago area are going belly-up. It's a big chain this area. I hope the rumor isn't true (even though their prices are ridiculously high). It would mean a lot of lost jobs.

I remember the Jewel Tea company, which I think was an offshoot of this. The Jewel Tea man came around ever couple of weeks in his truck and my grandma used to order foodstuffs and housewares from him! Fun childhood memory.
