I almost posted " picking the wrong man" several time over lol.....but then I remembered the gasoline incident. Wish my dad was alive so I could have gotten the details....I have no memory of it.

Getting married. Very costly in time and money.

Divorced now.

A well intentioned post, warning someone about some health risks of something they were doing.

I've made a lot of mistakes over the years. But the worst one? Don't know-I don't think I've made it yet.

(now there's a scary thought. )

Yet another mistake! Hitch-hiked to California in June, 1968, right after high school, to start a new life. Unfortunately, I hadn't learned the value of persistence, back then, and gave up too quickly, crying to my parents , would you please send me a one way ticket back to Minnesota?

I've kicked myself, too many times, for giving up too quickly!

I would say that my biggest mistake was getting together with my ex but if I hadn't made that mistake I wouldn't have my daughter, maybe it was just sticking with him for so long.

So true, Askarben. I too, made the mistake of marrying so young, but that doesn't make my ex an a$$....it just means neither of us were really ready. Fresh out of school, haven't even lived the outside world yet, etc etc. If I were to change anything in my life, I wouldn't have the blessings I have now, namely, my kids and grandkids, though there are a few episodes of life I wish could have been different. But like you say, we learn from our mistakes.
Bayarea4, I understand some having that desperation and the desire to be married before its 'too late'. But I hope things are better for you now.

I've made more huge mistakes in my life than I could recount here but one that really jumps to mind is trying to be a landlord for a few years. We sold everything last year and haven't looked back.
