FRYDAY'S QUESTIONS

Since I'm being silly with "Fryday," let's talk about fried foods.

What is the most unusual deep-fried food item you've ever eaten?
I once made the mistake of ordering a hamburger at a fritter joint in Europe. I was a little concerned when they took a frozen burger patty and dropped it in the deep fryer. It only took one bite before I decided to write off my 5 bucks I spent and tossed the hamburger in the trash.

What is your favorite deep-fried food?
Deep fried turkey.

Have you ever prepared fried chicken from scratch?
I have not. It has been 40 years since I had pan fried chicken.

Do you like sautéed vegetables?
Dinner tonight consisted of dicing a potato, mushrooms, and onion and then tossing everything in the frying pan with a little Italian dressing. Dumptrucked some garlic powder and a little red pepper. Sprinkled some worcestershire sauce. Sauteed til done. Was very tasty

BONUS QUESTIONS

Have you ever had physical therapy? If so, what was it for and how long did you have to do it?
Twice. The first time was 9 sessions over three weeks after I broke my arm. The second time was daily for 4 weeks to be able to walk again after getting sick this year.

Have you ever used crutches or a knee walker or a regular walker to get around?
I have used a regular walker

JUST FOR FUN

In your home, what is your favorite piece of furniture to sit on?
- a sofa
- an easy chair
- a recliner
- a desk chair
- a bed
- a chaise
- outdoor furniture (describe)
- other
Seeing how all I have to sit on are my 2 recliners I guess I will say "recliner"

In which room is your favorite seat located?
In my livingroom

MISCELLANEOUS STUFF

What is your usual source of local, national and world news?
TV and the internet

When was the last time you read a newspaper?
A few months ago while staying at a hotel

Do you subscribe to any magazines? If so, which ones? (Magnum Mike, Victoria's Secret catalogs don't count. )

Not any more

Have you ever gotten behind in reading magazines, to the point where the next issue arrived and you hadn't finished the previous issue yet?
Seeing how I am often gone for several months at a time, when I was getting magazines I might be 2 or 3 months behind reading them.

Lamb testicles. Duck testicles are even better! Extremely yummy, their texture is almost identical to that of a succulent scallop.
I had it deep fried, but at home, I just make them pan-fried.

Thanks for posting, PJ!

Have you ever prepared fried chicken from scratch?

Oh, yes - that's a regular item in our supper rotation. Nothing in the world better than cold fried chicken and potato salad for a summer picnic!

Do you like sautéed vegetables?

Very much, thanks.

BONUS QUESTIONS

Have you ever had physical therapy? If so, what was it for and how long did you have to do it?

Oh, I'm betting I know the origin of this question, and I'm sorry you're still having to deal with it! I've gone through PT for shoulder pain on a couple of different occasions (lasted a couple of months each time) and have had several PT series following joint-replacement or revision surgery.

Have you ever used crutches or a knee walker or a regular walker to get around?

Yup, did a lot of crutch-walking following joint-replacement and revision surgeries.

NPR for national and world news, websites for local.

Glanced through one while awaiting my turn at the dentist's office this week. Long on ads and fluff, short on real news.

Cook's Illustrated, The Economist, Funny Times - that's about it at present.

Have you ever gotten behind in reading magazines, to the point where the next issue arrived and you hadn't finished the previous issue yet?

That seems to happen pretty much every month any more!
