Some thoughts on using common sense in marketing, advertising and life. "Because you can doesn't mean you should".

"There is a reason why simplicity and honesty work. It’s called common sense. Which leads into the ridiculously simple cure for Common Sense Deficit Disorder (*see definition below). I’m certain you’ve heard it before: ‘Treat others how you wish to be treated.’ If we start there, and never forget that science always wins, together we just might be able to begin to cure this crippling disease".

*What is CSDD? "Common Sense Deficit Disorder occurs when ideas, both well-intentioned and nefarious, fail to factor in common decency or science. Simply put, what goes up really does come down and, as Thumper’s dad stated, “If you don’t got nothing nice to say, don’t say nothing at all".

Todd Greene ~ Vice President of Marketing at Media Temple.

Wow, someone in that business with morals and ethics? I never would have believed it.

I can't tell you enough about cinnamon. Cinnamon is an awesome spice to use and it goes great with something like apples in the morning or in a mixture of fruit or in your oatmeal or even in your cereal.

I was so inspired to see a man more miserable than I that I decided I got to get in the movie business.

Consider the postage stamp: its usefulness consists in the ability to stick to one thing till it gets there.

“Passion. It lies in all of us. Sleeping... waiting... and though unwanted, unbidden, it will stir... open its jaws and howl. It speaks to us... guides us. Passion rules us all. And we obey. What other choice do we have? Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love... the clarity of hatred... the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion, maybe we'd know some kind of peace. But we would be hollow. Empty rooms, shuttered and dank. Without passion, we'd be truly dead.”
