Me (22) and my cousin who's two years older than me (24 born in 89) got into an argument that I'm not really a true 90'd kid. Now personally I really consider myself both a 90's and 2000's kid because I really spent half of my childhood in both decades. I spent the first 8 years of my life in the 90s and the remainder of my childhood and teenage years were spent in the 2000s and I graduated high school in 2009. I really came of age in the 2000s but I still consider myself a 90s kid. I obviously don't remember the early 90s but I remember 96-99 pretty well. Even though my cousin is only two years older than me and we're the same generation he considers himself a 90s kid and not me when he technically wasn't even a teenager until 2002. Anyways there you have it what do you guys think....

I think most of us consider our early and later teen years our decade. Though.....I think I'd say 70's for myself which would be my 20's.

I was born in '52 but always considered myself a child of the 60's. Most of my schooling was in that decade and when I was more into the mix.

The way I see it is, is that you're a kid of the decade preceding that of which you were born.

1970-1979= 80s kid
1980-1989= 90s kid
1990-1999= 00s kid

You cannot lie claim to the decade of which you were born in, i.e. being a 90s baby and a 90s kid at the same time. I think this is the most consistent way to look at it, unless you start cutting the late years off from a birth decade (say from 7 on)

Also born in 91, and yea, it is kinda hard to consider myself a 90s kid since I only remember 96-99 really and everything else is the 00s-10s. But maybe I can still say it, not sure.

There are no hard and fast rules about this! It is up to the individual to decide how they fit, relate to the world or times.

I was born the second year of a decade (heh heh, which one?). I consider that as my early childhood years and I have some memories of that time. I have more memories of the next decade, but it is truly split between the two decades.

If you are born in 1991, then you are 00s kid. that's my opinion
