A former teacher in the Cincinnati area is suing her school district for allegedly discriminating
against her illness - a fear of young children.
The woman claims the school transferred her from a high school to a Jr. high school despite her
diagnosed pedophobia, which causes her to experience symptoms such as vomiting, chest pains and
nightmares when teaching young kids.
A fear of young children? LOL sounds like the newest excuse for the commitment-phobic guys I used to meet. Just ask "so where is this relationship going" and you can almost see that phobia flare up!

Supervisor: You're getting transferred to a Jr. high school to teach younger kids
Teacher: Are you Kidding me?
I've never heard of that phobia.. but it sounds scary..
I can quite understand such a phobia! Children should be avoided if possible........ I only have to look in a holiday brochure at pictures of hotels with waterchutes for the kiddies. Or ones that advertising clubs for the little blighters....... brings me out in a rash!!
Oh, really? Does Jr high these days include "young children?" If I recall correctly, there wasn't much difference in myself between Jr high and Sr high other than just getting older (and smarter ). I was already at my full height and weight that stayed about the same for decades.
Just my opinion, but if this woman truly has some sort of phobia around any age, she should not be allowed to teach. Now I'll read the article to see if it sheds some light on the ages of the "young children" at this particular Jr high. Maybe it will also explain how she determines whether a person under age 18 is in her fear category.
There is a more seriuos and related condition called assaultapedophobia which has become predominate in the last few years. It's a fear of young children carrying AK-47's.
My grandmother was born in 1891. The kids left school at 12, and went to work in the mill, or cleaning chimneys. They were no problem when sent to work at this age. This would be a solution.........

Good grief. I read the article. There's more to this story than first meets the eye. I hope Ohio has the sort of law where if a plaintiff loses a frivolous lawsuit she has to pay the defense costs. That would serve her right. From the article alone, it doesn't appear to me that she has a leg to stand on.
