Good morning peevers.

I've taken the day off work in order to wait for an important delivery- we've had that peeve before!

I'm clearing up here in the study and we have a load of stuff from a particular charity. Mrs J donated some of her late father's belongings to them and ever since we have been swamped by their material (brochures, requests, emails) and also material from allied organisations.

I know that times are tough for us all, including charities, but they are going the right way about pissing us off.

For the POTD I have;

Being pestered by any type of organisation.

Had this happen so many times, I just ignore the calls. Since getting my smart-phone, a call-block app does wonders . I've had a few churches contact me lately and send me mail, but that's another subject LOL.

I feel your pain. I don't mind hepling out various charites, but what does bother me is when I have to say, "I can't do it this time" and they still keep calling... well it doesn't make me feel more charitable, which bugs me all in itself. Messages designed to make me feel guilty because I can't come in and work a site, or man phones, or whatever the request may be, just makes me angry. I know the need is dire, and help is getting harder to get, but I only ask that they respect my home life, and that there are only so many hours in a day. I help whenever I can, but it can't be all the time.

Once we get put on a mailing list, it's all over. Don't mind so much when it's the actual organization I donated to, but when they sell or whatever my address to others that's when I get PO'd.

This is going on with me right now. I made a donation to a national children's charity and now they call or send me something weekly......hounding me for more money. The way I see it they are wasting more money by hounding people than they are getting. I like to spread out my donations to various charties and since they are hounding me they probably won't get anymore donations from me.

It almost puts you off donating.

I don't like it, either, when I donate to a charity and then they spend some of that money asking me for more! I understand why they do this, but it still kind of bothers me. All I can think of is how much it cost to print and mail those materials.........

Just the other day, I received an unsolicited telephone call from an insurance company. The man asked, "How are you?"

So I told him how I was. I replied, "I'm not interested."

End of call!
