Precisely! I hate the interstates ..they bypass all the wonderful small towns we used to drive through and visit. When I vacation I'm doing it by car. I want to see things. Not flying to one particular spot...it's just not for me.

Nothing quite like taking a road trip via back roads. When I camped out for around 2.5 months getting off the beaten path a bit was the best part.

LOL..Yeah, Mike that's probably what they call that gigantic telescope they have there! They probably don't want to sell that one...lol.

Great tip pammy...but I've never visited any of them , but there is so many things to visit for vacation in New England. Marthard's Vinyard, Cape Cod, The Ice Canons in New Hamspshire, Mountain Climbing, this is to name a few. . It's great to be from New England

SAX, I love the road less traveled. The Sunday family drive of my youth. Mom would pack a lunch. Dad would head towards the woods or a mountain. At some point he'd stop (in the middle of the road, no matter, nothing passing) and stare longingly down a side road and say, "You know, I've never been down that road". Off we'd go! Mom would get upset and seem worried. I always knew that we'd be home by bedtime.

I do that now, have been doing that for a number of years. What could go wrong? I have water, snacks, beach towels and a space blanket in my trunk. What could possibly go wrong?
