Excellent tip! Fresh flowers always add special charm to the home. If there are cats and dogs in the home, leave out those flowers that are toxic, such as lilies.
Great tip Pam! Another thing that I do is add a non-coated Aspirin pill when I change the water daily, it really is effective!
I've devoted a couple of Tips to keeping all cut flowers fresh. Snipping the stem ends and keeping the flowers
in fresh water makes a huge difference. If you change the water every couple of days, it really helps.

Carnations are also a great choice for long-lasting flowers. They, too, can last 20 days or so in a vase. Their fragrance is light, crisp and fresh. Some even have a bit of a cinnamon-y fragrance.
Dianthus Tiny Rubies have the best cinnamon/clove smell ever!!
