Monty Python and the Flying Circus. Got to love that English humor. Lawrence Welk, just kill me now. I left the room and listened to the Beatles. Something about those English boys.

My mom it was some soaps, such as "Edge of Night" and "Perry Mason".
Dad liked the sci-fi and westerns and almost anything about the US Marines. Star Trek [with Spock, Kirk and Bones] was a favorite. John Wayne was a favorite actor, MASH, Streets of San Francisco [loved the dog], The Lone Ranger, Bonanza, Rat Patrol, Green Hornet, Bing Crosby, Some of those nature shows, can't remember the name now. Jackie Gleason [Honeymooners] and of course, almost forgot Dragnet and Hawaii Five-O. We also watched some sports - baseball and football, mostly and the Olympics. Many more.

Oh yeah I almost forgot about watching All My Children on summer afternoons with my Mom. I watched it up until it was cancelled There really wasn't much else to watch on that tiny black and white screen.

NY Yankee baseball and NY Jets football with my dad.

I don't remember watching any other shows with them except maybe Ed Sullivan on Sunday night.

An exciting thing was when my Dad & I were on the Port Jefferson Ferry boat and we saw the Merry Mailman with his daughter.

Our family never watched much TV - my parents didn't even get one until the early 1960s, and then it was a huge old monster of a B/W cabinet TV that they bought used. But I do recall watching a few things with them.

We always watched Masterpiece Theatre presentations together as a family. I learned more about 16th century British monarchs that way than I ever did in school.

My mom used to enjoy watching The French Chef with Julia Child, and I discovered that I possessed a totally unexpected gift for mimicry when I imitated Julia's nasal tone of voice one day and sent Mom into gales of laughter.

My dad, who was a WWII vet, always insisted on watching Bob Hope's Christmas shows that were filmed when Hope was performing for the troops overseas. I also recall watching The Honeymooners with my dad.

Another show I enjoyed watching with my dad was 'The Andy Williams Show'. I remember a guy in a bear suit. He used to have great guests like Mama Cass. At the end of the show, as he sang his last song, he always got a young lady up from the audience to dance with him.
