Welcome to Tuesday, and to Kobber’s inaugural QOTD, which today is dedicated to Karla for her four years of tireless devotion to thinking up weird, wacky and wonderful questions.
Thank You Kobber for taking a day to ask the questions.....I look forward to it.

Today’s Question(s):

You’ve been invited to dinner with neighbours that you’ve met but don’t know very well. What gift are you most likely to take?

Bottle of wine
Bunch of flowers
Potted plant
Dessert
Nothing
Most likely I would ask, "Can I bring anything?" If they say no.....just yourselves....I would either bring a bottle of wine or flowers...depending on whether of not the host/hostess drank wine.

Extra Credit Question:

Do you have the autograph of any famous people?
If so, whose autograph(s) do you have?

I kick myself over and over for not saving one of the subsistance paychecks I got back in the 1960's when I worked as a member of the Alabama field staff for Dr. M L King. The checks had his signature....(whether he actually signed the "payroll checks" or had an office person sign for him....I dont know....but they werent stamped...they were signed.) However I couldnt save one....I was trying to run a program and survive....and the $15.00 mthly was sorely needed.

Extra Credit Question:

When you were in 7th grade, what mode of transport did you use to get to school and how far did you have to travel?

I took the city bus.....I don't know how far it was....but a way from my home. I was a country boy who had just moved to the city and I was terrified.

Bonus Question:

What’s the furthest long-distance call you have ever made? From Japan to USA.
Just for Fun:

What’s your favourite breakfast beverage? Coffee
Are you drinking it right now? Yes

Today’s Word: (a very interesting word choice; I learned from it.)

2. An argument or discussion, especially of a hypothetical legal case.
3. Obsolete A debate, argument, or discussion.

Today Is:

I love Martina Navratilova's tennis commentary....she is the best!

THANK YOU KOBBER.....WELL DONE!

Good morning to all! Hitting QOTD early today before the desk starts popping!

Today’s Question(s):

You’ve been invited to dinner with neighbours that you’ve met but don’t know very well. What gift are you most likely to take?

Bottle of wine
Bunch of flowers
Potted plant
Dessert
Nothing

Extra Credit Question:

Do you have the autograph of any famous people?
If so, whose autograph(s) do you have?
I've got a bunch of celeb autographs. I think my favorite is the tall infield pass I got at the Atlanta season Finale in 1990. I went up and down pit road before driver introductions and got a ton of signatures on it. That was well before the mass crowds you see on pit road these days.

Extra Credit Question:

When you were in 7th grade, what mode of transport did you use to get to school and how far did you have to travel?
School bus or I walked. It was about 2 -3 miles to school from home.

Bonus Question:

What’s the furthest long-distance call you have ever made?
I used to do business with the US military bases overseas, so I'd have phone calls with them at all hours of the day and night due to time zones.

Just for Fun:

What’s your favourite breakfast beverage?
My favorite beverage is Diet Dr Pepper.

Are you drinking it right now?
Unfortunately, no. I stopped drinking soda 27 days ago. Now it's water or flavored water as my daily beverage.

Today Is:
National chocolate cupcake day Sign me up!
World Menopause Day
Birthdate of: Chuck Berry

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, Kobber, and congratulations on a great job! You are a worthy inheritor of Karla's tradition, and I'm delighted that you're our Tuesday hostess.

Today’s Question(s):

You’ve been invited to dinner with neighbours that you’ve met but don’t know very well. What gift are you most likely to take?

Bottle of wine
Bunch of flowers
Potted plant
Dessert
Nothing
Other

Well, I'd ask before bringing anything edible or potable, since some hosts get grumpy if people bring things that don't go well with what they've planned. I'd be most likely to take either flowers or else a small hostess gift, probably something handmade like a bowl I've thrown or a small piece of needlework.

Extra Credit Question:

Do you have the autograph of any famous people?

No, I've never really had the opportunity to get autographs. Well, I've got a couple of books signed by the authors, but they're not what you'd describe as famous.

Extra Credit Question:

When you were in 7th grade, what mode of transport did you use to get to school and how far did you have to travel?

When I was in seventh grade, I walked to school. It was about a mile, give or take a block.

Bonus Question:

What’s the furthest long-distance call you have ever made?

Oh, goodness. Not all that far, really, never outside the continental US. Probably Texas to Michigan.

Just for Fun:

What’s your favourite breakfast beverage?

STRONG coffee, please!

Are you drinking it right now?

Yup; haven't gotten very far into my first cup, which explains any typos or spelling errors, but I am imbibing as I type.
