What your birth order?

I find birth order and personality traits very fascinating. I read a book called The Birth Order Book by Dr. Kevin Leman. It goes into many different avenues of our personality in relation to our family birth order. Naturally being the last born/baby of the family I went directly to that section and was called out on it first thing.......the book said that if you are a last born you have skippped over and come directly to this section.........I had and it also went on to say that many last borns were auto salespeople......I was in auto sales/finance. But because I came into the family several years behind my sister and brother I also exhibit some of the only child personality traits too. Those are just a couple of examples that were accurate for me.

What are your experiences/observations related to birth order?

I am the middle child. I did a google search on his book and he said..

"[Middle child] are more of a closed book than an open one." Most secretive. I used to display the "burned child" reactive when I was younger but not much anymore. He also said "I hope she chooses a man who is very patient and willing to listen and draw her out." YES, very true.

"[They] are likely to be mentally tough and independent." True. We're the last one to seek professional help. Yes. My school offer free counseling (basically we paid so it's not really free) and through my 4 years of struggling in life, I never once went to them.

"[We're] most likely to be the most faithful marriage partner." - Interesting enough. Very true. I am very loyal to my friends.

"You are probably embarrass easily." - I'm not too sure because culturally I don't like to be embarrass either way.

Middle child is balanced. I really like his strength and weaknesses. They are true in many ways. I am a peace maker. I do confrontations whenever I feel that it is necessary. I am not spoiled but was not rebellious during my teenage years either. I do like to do things differently. I am stubborn. And I am trusted with a lot of secret information from family and friends.

Third child, last child, third daughter. Don't even let it enter your mind that I was ever "spoiled" because I was the "baby of the family". Didn't happen.

Interesting chart re: birth order patterns, Glory.

I'm the baby of the family, with an older brother and an older sister. None of us fits the usual description for our birth order.

I'm the first born and I was with my younger brother last week. I think I still treat him like a kid at times even though he's in his late forties.

I'm the first born for whatever that's worth. Aah yes, the visionary, I see visions of things to come. Yep, bills in the mail.
