I stayed up past 11:00 pm, watching the 9-11 tv special last night. It was really interesting. We had to put the show in pause a couple times to finish getting two loads of clothes/pet bedding from washer to dryer, to folding/stowing and then get dinner going and feed dogs.

I couldn't imagine what it would be like as a fireman there on that day and some have been dying since then from various cancers. Some of their doctors are saying without a doubt breathing a crazy mix of fumes [jet fuel, mercury/other chemical compounds from blown up office computers], was the cause. However, the health insurance companies are begging to differ on that matter since EPA claimed "it's safe".

Saw the neat gadgetry available to make future relief efforts more effective during power grid outages/fluctuations. Wondering about
other ideas that could be helpful when dealing with high rise buidings and
quicker/safer evacuation methods. Kinda thinking of those jet packs Spock was using in that one Star Trek movie, that allowed him to lift up so many feet high up in the air. Darn it, I forgot how long they said it takes for a fireman with his gear to climb a flight of stairs.

This was a celebration of ending a war in which the Japanese started. Absolutely no comparison to be made whatsoever. We likely saved millions of Japanese and American lives by bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They're lucky we let the Emperor live. He was still reluctant to end his brutal war and inhumane treatment of all they took prisoner. We could have halted after the first bomb was dropped. Hirohito killed his own people....women, children and the like! Not one iota of comparison.
