The kids have been having such a good time I know they are going to hate to see it end. The parents have been giving us great feedback when they drop the kids off in the morning.

1. Wow this is really good I need to keep this in "stock" ? A prepared packet Indian rice that actually tastes pretty genuine (just zap it for a couple of minutes in the microwave).
2. Eww well at least I can say I tried it ? Quorn (a fake meat made out of goodness-knows-what) - it's worse than soy-based fake meat. Actually, it could even be worse than tofu.

2. Eww well at least I can say I tried it ? At camp the other day I tried a grape tomato right off the vine.
Camp is being held at a local Garden Club that has veggie gardens as well as butterfly gardens and the kids were encouraged to pick the tomatos
I asked one little boy if he had ever tried one he said no. I suggested he try one. lol he said I will if you will Ms karla. (I had never eaten a tomato)

Eww well at least I can say I tried it ?Chicken feet at the Chinese Dim Sum restaurant. I've always thought of them as bizarre and pointless. Finally tasted one, and confirmed my opinion. So many other better parts of a chicken to eat why bother with the feet?

I do tend to get on a kick....and to use certain ingredients and consider them staples in my pantry.....recently it has been some Asian cooking ingredients....Mirin cooking wine, tofu, fish sauce etc.

Went to a friend's house for lunch yesterday and she served kasha cooked in mushroom broth with daikon and fresh ginger. It was fabulous, and I'll pick some up this weekend.

It was some mass-produced prepared food that a friend thought would be good. Too much salt, too much fat, not enough seasonings.... bleah.

How come?
I don't remember the name of the movie, but about 15 or 20 minutes in, there was a close-up of someone getting stabbed in the eye. That was enough for me, and I walked out.
