If I could get my car to sip gas as slowly as my printer sips ink I'd gladly pay that price.

I solve the water cost (partially) by refilling the bottles with tap water and putting them in the refrigerator. Each "used" bottle has a big black X on the cap so visitors know.

What the media is reporting, is China bought up hundreds of thousands of cars (I can't remember the number, but Nitram should know where to look - he's GREAT at finding that stuff), and India's economy has blossomed as well, thereby greatly increasing the demand for fuel in both countries. That's driving our costs up.

And on top of that, you have a president who banned deep water oil drilling in the Gulf, after last summers BP spill. So, we're getting schrod in two ways. (Which I think is illegal in all 50 states!)
China imported 4.7 million cars last year. China has been buying and hoarding oil for the past 20 years. They are building major refineries there. They have made major commitments to all the oil producing countries to get as much oil as they can. They plan to control the market and eventually be selling oil to the US.They have been stealing our technology for years and years to compete and for self survival. The major automakers are building plants in China to build millions of more cars to supply their demand.

(Gas price estimates for the next 3-5 years range from $7.50 per gal to upwards of $10.00 per gal. We'll have to wait and see how the world scenarios turn out)

Thanks!!!! I'd knew you'd know where to find that info!!! I heard it on the news some weeks ago, but couldn't remember the numbers.

Now, with the blip from Wikileaks, the oil prices will likely soar to a God awful price pdq. Maybe that will have immediate results for getting oil back out of our Gulf.

Gulf oil will not change the price of gas at the pump. Oil prices are controlled by world speculators and the Saudis.
