I practically consider it a criminal offense when you have to miss a day of work.........for nothing.
Why is it that these people behave as if homewoners don't have jobs and just have the luxury of being able to stay home and wait for them to show up at THEIR convenience?
A few yrs back, I had a guy show up around 3ish...his arrival was SUPPOSE to be between 9-3...ok...so he was "basically" on time (lets give him the benefit of the doubt). He tells me if his boss calls let him know that he is there, but he needs to take his break. So....he sits in his truck for 30 minutes, knocks on the door and tells me it's quitting time...bye. He'll be back tomorrow. I tell him don't bother...and I would tell his boss the same thing. And I did.
I worked for a guy who use to have me set up sevice calls for him and then either he would cancel at the last minute or run a couple hours late! It use to drive me crazy because I would hear the grief from all the customers and who could blame them!
HUGE peeve of mine A few months ago I was "waiting" for some things to be delivered and had given very clear directions to the woman in charge (who's fluent in English). Bad enough the stuff was supposed to be delivered much earlier in the day (before it started raining). She finally calls and says the driver is around 5 minutes from my house, so I told her I'd go stand by the street - make it easy for him
It's pouring rain, 15 minutes goes by then 20 - I'm running back and forth between the carport and the street. I call her back and she said the guys got lost FINALLY showed up like 30 minutes later. Wouldn't have ticked me off quite as much if it was hard to find my house, but it's soooo easy a 2 year old could get here. Blew my entire day, I was soaking wet and then had to get the things into the house in the middle of a storm. I usually tip very well . . . not this time.
I'm loving all the replies that keep coming in. It's amazing the range of things that can peeve us.
Today I've definitely made my mind up!
Yesterday I had to stay in for a delivery and it arrived when they said, but that's not always the case, so today's peeve is
Waiting around for a delivery or an appointment that doesn't happen.
How about waiting for a repairman who said they would be there between 8-5. You take the day off work, then they still dont show up Good peeve!
