In an average month, how many times do you beep your horn or flash your bright lights at someone when you've been brought to a certain level of anger and frustration,, and what incident usually brings it about?
Myself, it's usually on my way to work, and there's this one intersection that's extremely stingy with only allowing 3-4 cars to turn on a left-turn arrow. And if you don't get the opportunity to turn, it's a long wait for the next one.
Particularly if I'm second in line, there are others behind me, I watch that upcoming arrow like a hawk and, in sympathy to those behind me as well,
if they don't take off, allowing a glance for red-light runners, like a missle, it's beep-beep, flash-flash!
And another confusing thing about this intersection, once you do turn, you're faced with another light, which is always red, and a number of people don't realize once you have the arrow, you're free to go thru it and onto the freeway ramp. So, for the confused who stop at that light, more beep-beep,
flash-flash!
I have little to no road rage what so ever. If I am behind someone who does not realize the light has turned green I will give a quick tap of the horn.
Well here honking is normal and a form of communication - no one pulls out a gun (or machete). Some people honk when they pass someone walking down the road they know or when they drive by their house. Think the last time I tapped my horn was when some woman was talking on her cell phone and driving maybe 1/2kph - I had to be somewhere at a certain time, so I didn't appreciate her yakin' on her phone and holding me up.
We also will flash our lights to other drivers if say Transito (traffic cops) are sitting and waiting for people to speed by or at night if someone has their brights on.
