The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one
thought over another.

We should be able to....but it sure isn't easy.
Maybe it is for some people. I have to actively work at not worrying.

This is so true... and yet so difficult.

I read a while back that the human brain can only focus on so many bits of information at a given time, and the universe constantly bombards us with so much more information than we can digest. Therefore, if we choose to dwell on unhealthy thoughts we not only subject ourselves to stress but we also prevent our brains from even being aware of more productive thoughts.

You literally cannot see beauty if you focus too much on the ugly.

The worst twist of all is that since humans have ridiculous egos, we convince ourselves that if we aren't aware of something, it must not exist (and anyone who claims it does must be lying or trying to sell something).

Well said, Normie, and like others said it can be quite challenging at times to steer our thinking away from negativity and focus on the positives.

I agree, but like several others have already said, it's hard to do!

Wow, this is profound. I have a lot of stress sometimes... I am going to chose better thoughts for my health.
