Today's DYK was suggested by JustJoy! It is a spin-off from yesterday's Question thread, which I hosted.

Just wanted to throw this out for you b/c seems a lot of ppl don't understand why HF decision was so revolutionary (a good thing). While I personally would prefer a 2 day work week, with 5 day weekend LOL at the time people were working for a pitiful amount of money and very long hours. Anyway, just wanted to send this link to you in case you ever wanted to use for Did you know thread when filling in

LOL surprised me to see how DYK was set up. I would have been a tad bit more articulate in my DM

Anyway, Henry Ford IMO was an amazing man in many aspects. It was revolutionary at the time to establish a minimum wage and a 5 day work week though paying workers for 6, along with 8 hour shifts. Not only was it just common business sense, but humane to allow workers downtime to spend with their family or whatever they wanted to do on their days off. Anyone interested in history should take a gander at the article and other sources about the man.

Now SCG - REST, DO NOT WORK AND FEEL BETTER

Managing workers with a carrot or a stick,,,,, the carrot works every time.

Ford has many GREAT ideas, too bad so many corporations today don't believe in them.
