Thank you for this post Cruxan. After reading this, I did some research and learned about a virus that is Facebook related and has been confirmed by snopes:
snopes.com: YouTube/Facebook Virus
This morning, I checked my email and lo and behold, there is an email that appears to come from Facebook but the email domain name did not appear to be connected to FB. The subject line states that (FB User name withheld) wants to share some Australian photos with me. I happened to know that this individual has never been to Australia and I am 99.5 percent certain that this did not even come from him. I deleted the email without even opening it and will be calling my FB contact to let him know that his computer may be infected. Now the Snopes link talked about a YouTube video and not Australian photos but I'm still going to play it safe as I cannot afford to have my machine infected with a virus. Had I not learned about the virus mentioned in the Snopes link, I probably would have downloaded the photos because I trust this individual who is a family member AND works in networking for a major company. The moral of the story is - Unless you are expecting an attachment from one of your email contacts, confirm the legitimacy before you download.
